A Commitment to Scale and Ambition: Why I Joined Zeren

My recruitment career began in May 2019 and being relatively new to the industry, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. I learnt a lot in my first year and started to understand what the difference between being a good recruiter and a great recruiter looks like. The answer to this, I found, is simply working alongside great people and becoming the best version of yourself.

I joined Zeren for several reasons, one of which started from my first call with various members of the team. I was lucky enough to speak to almost all their Leadership Team, and I quickly realised that I was genuinely conversing with down-to-earth, high-performing individuals who want everyone within the business to succeed. The team is driven and massively collaborative, and the personalities of the group are professional, warm and kind.

Secondly, was the measurable growth Zeren had realised over the last 12 months. It’s not often that you start a new role where a lot of your new colleagues had also only joined within the last year, including many members of the Leadership Team. Straight away, I felt that Zeren was building something special, and that their commitment of scale and ambition was clear to see; I was excited to be a part of it.

Joining Zeren also provided me with the chance to operate within their high-growth VC and PE-backed client sector, which has always interested me. Having the ability to partner with exciting technology businesses, looking to build their brand and traverse through their own hyper-growth journey was particularly exciting to me. In addition, being given the ability to engage high-quality talent for these businesses, and to aid in this growth is a huge drive for me, and I believe that true partnership is the best way for client and search specialists to work together.


I had the opportunity to launch a function within Chris Batters’ Technology division at Zeren, and become a specialist in Data. Data Growth in the UK has risen dramatically, with there being a 650% increase in Data Science jobs since 2012. Technology roles have proven to be resilient during the COVID-19 pandemic, and we’re seeing a shift in B2B SaaS businesses looking to grow-out their teams, with big plans for 2022. In fact, there’s been circa 74 zettabytes of data created in 2021 alone, and the need for Data Scientists, Data Engineers and Data Analysts is skyrocketing.


Working for a business that is a partner to, and member of the Renovata & Company brand stood out to me; being part of an organisation that operates solely at the C-Suite level of Executive Search provides Zeren‘s brand with a lot of credibility in the market. I’m a big believer of making connections, and building networks in order to help others, and to make my role as seamless as it can be.
