To my current and future network, I am excited to announce that I’ve started at Zeren to work on permanent hires. Zeren exists to empower the world’s change makers and we do this by building high-performing teams in the world’s most innovative businesses, to accelerate growth by connecting visionary leaders and ambitious talent.
Many connections from my network will remember how happy I was at my previous business and how I would refer to myself as part of the furniture and “dependably stable” — someone who would always be there! So, this move may naturally come as a shock to some! I hope that you can agree that this move is a natural progression in my journey toward helping clients and candidates further. It also allows me to align my values of “knowledge, integrity, and grit” to a scaling brand that is building an environment whereby all of its consultants have the ability to truly consult, help, and drive their clients’ businesses forward.
I have always worked in the investor-backed SME space, and have a natural proclivity toward these types of organisations. I have always found that you can genuinely consult and learn with these businesses, more so than any other. The technology space, from pre-revenue start-ups to £200M turnover established brands, in particular, is a hugely exciting landscape and I can’t imagine why anyone would not want to be at the forefront of it!
I initially met with Zeren’s CEO, Chris Preston, and its Director of Operations and Finance, Dan Briselden to discuss how I could help its Finance division. I was instantly struck by how the team had assembled a talented group of experienced consultants and directors from across many successful brands across London. The team’s industry expertise, deep recruitment knowledge, and openness of process in which they serve their clients and candidates clearly stood out. The platform that Zeren has created is powerful, and its partnership with Renovata group, enables the entire team to call upon the investor knowledge that exists within that brand to better advise our clients in the tech space — a truly unique offering to the market! For someone who has been working in the industry for many years, my initial impression of how Zeren partners with its clients, by using its retained recruitment search model, was a lasting one. And it is the inevitable reason that finally shook me from my “safe” role within a well-established company.
From a broad perspective, the technology space is going through exponential growth, and with this change comes intense competition for the best finance experts to help drive that change and propel this growth. Zeren’s retained deep dive model allows our clients to see a true reflection of the finance candidate market and gives them the time, transparency, and access to target the top 10% of talent in their space.
