Joining Zeren in Berlin, By Austin Powell

Why did you join Zeren?

Impressed is the word that comes to mind every time I’m asked this question. I was quite happy in my previous role, but I quickly discovered that Zeren had something special to offer, from the businesses they work with to the company culture. I could immediately see, in speaking with Jean-Pierre Lauret, Matthieu Pirouelle, and Chris Preston, that this is a company full of intelligent, motivated individuals where I could accelerate my career.

What is your role within Zeren?

I am a Manager for the Europe Technology practice, which means I will be working with Private Equity and Venture Capital-backed, hyper-growth companies to search and place Technology and Product roles across the European region.

What do you enjoy about working at Zeren?

It’s a combination of the people and the fast-paced nature of the company. Within my first week I was meeting clients and speaking with candidates. At the same time, the Zeren team has made me feel very welcome and has been incredibly supportive in getting me up to speed with things.

It’s also exciting to work with hyper-growth companies across a myriad of industries. Each client and the roles they recruit for are different, which ensures that I’m constantly learning about new sectors and industry trends.

What is your opinion on the culture?

The culture is fantastic. There hasn’t been a time where I wasn’t able to reach out to a colleague for support. Everyone is incredibly welcoming and are as much invested in their colleague’s success as their own.

I really like the international feel that the company has, since colleagues are based all over the world from the US to Europe.

What does the future hold for you?

Short-term, I’m focused on getting up to speed with internal processes along with the portfolio of companies Zeren Europe works with. Long term, my goal is to help position Zeren as a market leader for companies in the European region that are looking to fill Product and Technology roles.
