We are looking for a professionally qualified Director of Engineering who is driven by making a positive impact and is passionate about building great engineering teams and solving complex problems.
 

Passion.io is a SaaS with the goal to make the world more confident and passionate by serving creators with the best mobile-first software suite and education to have more impact on their customers. Creators can launch their own branded impactful mobile apps with just a few taps. 
 

The client has an international remote team of 50 people, supporting 6000+ creators that impact 300k+ users from all over the world. We are a $10m ARR business and expect to reach 100 passionate team members by the end of next year.
 

The Director of Engineering drives a CORE role at Passion.io. As THE leader of our tech, you will be responsible for driving and implementing the tech vision with our tech teams to serve our customers at the highest level. This role works closely with the CEO and requires business partnering with the product,  marketing, and customer success teams

Mission

You will be focused on hiring and developing world-class engineering talent, nurturing your teams’ health and putting them in the best position to achieve their ambitious goals. You will help develop engineering craftsmanship culture. 
 

You’ll be responsible for the strategic planning of the technology roadmap, the design and architecture of our product and for making our software delivery process predictable. You will own the delivery of our products and commitments to our customers. This includes the thousands of apps that are launched/live, our app builder, and the app submission process (Apple, Google) and collaborating with other functions to help us achieve our business goals.

Primary objectives

  1. Be a technical leader to the organization, forming a shared vision of the technology architecture with the engineering team that is aligned with the business strategy.
  2. Be the voice of the customer in the engineering team, driving metrics to ensure a high quality user experience (e.g. uptime, apdex score, dora metrics).
  3. Be the voice of the engineering team so that the engineering team’s needs are met to improve productivity by creating a joyful, efficient and effective development experience.
