Regional Sales Director – Italy

Planet Payments are looking for an energetic and highly motivated Regional Sales Director with a proven and successful Enterprise sales track record in the high growth Fin-Tech software space.

With over 11,000 existing accounts globally, and the backing of 2 Tier 1 Private Equity funds (Advent and Eurazeo), Planet are now at the early stage of an exciting pivoting and growth journey, capitalising on their success to launch a software solution offering. We are looking to build an elite Sales Team to take this exciting proposition to market.

Your goal is to take Planet Payment to the next level in the Italian market, being the first employee on the ground and helping to build the team around you.

Your main aim is to make Planet Payment a true leader in the Fintech SaaS space in the UK, capitalising and building on hyper-growth success story.

The role:

  • Establish net new Enterprise logos, across Retail, Luxury, Hospitality sectors in particular.
  • Selling into green fields across the Italian market.
  • Drive your desk and focus on net new logo acquisition in Enterprise Account.
  • Lead Generation – Marketing, Partners and what you will generate yourself.
  • Average deal €200k with a quick sales cycle.
  • Targets – Over €1M.
  • Become the first hire on the ground in the Italy and build the team from Day 1 with the support of a Sales Development Representative based in country, grow lead and inspire the team.
  • The need for mentoring and coaching team members and equally knowing when to make changes and acting on that is key.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Well versed in B2B and SaaS sales into Enterprise clients and across multiple verticals, experience / track record in retail, luxury, hospitality will be highly regarded.
  • Proven knowledge of Fintech Software sales, and an established network of relationships in your market.
  • Understanding of how to navigate complex deals with C-Suite stakeholders.  
  • Experienced in developing suitable systems, processes and KPIs for driving all areas of the sales cycle and the sales machine – which most likely includes onboarding, demand/lead generation and field sales.
  • Driven personality with an entrepreneurial mindset, ability to succeed in a highly autonomous environment.
  • Experience of working with PE-backed, fast growing software companies will be highly regarded.
  • Experienced in a greenfield sales position / first person on the ground, opening a new territory / region will be highly regarded.
  • Knows how to attract and onboard great talent to meet the goals of the business.
  • Fluent in Italian & English.
  • Excellent Oral, Written and Interpersonal Skills.
