The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded, experienced Presales Technical Engineer to join our team. You will play a crucial role in providing the bridge between our customers, who are frequently new to technology, and the value to be gained from our highly configurable platform. You will be key to understanding and scoping customer requirements, starting with identifying the business problem and translating those requirements into an impactful tailored customer demonstration of our point solutions. You will be able to articulate the risks of our proposed solutions and work with internal business stakeholders to ensure the risks are mitigated. You will play an integral role in helping the sales team close enterprise contracts and achieve our growth objectives.
In this role you will:
• Act as primary technical knowledge centre for the sales team on the BuildData Group point solutions and Zutec platform
• Lead and own technical scoping sessions within Housebuilders, Residential Developers and Asset Owners segments of the UK and Ireland Construction market,
• Prepare and deliver tailored technical demonstrations of our point solutions, focussing on specific user journeys based on audience personas and defined customer cohorts
• Develop and articulate the technical vision for the solution, and evolve that vision as the sales process progresses
• Build and maintain an awareness of competitor offerings, for consideration as part of responses and proposals
• Support the sales team in authoring and building proposal documentation, process/solution diagrams and supporting collateral
• Lead technical responses and support on Request for Proposals and tenders
About You
• Technical Knowledge:
o Strong understanding of SaaS platform technologies and configuration
o Familiarity with data and database management
o Previous experience with scripting, software development or PowerBI a plus
o Familiarity with APIs/Integrations also a plus
o Full product training will be provided, but you must have the ability to demonstrate learning and understanding of large / complex software products
o Awareness of common customer challenges with implementation of enterprise software solutions
o Previous experience in Pre-sales or technical consulting role is desirable
o Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or construction related field is also desirable
• Industry Knowledge
o Familiarity with the Construction and Property sectors is a huge plus
• Communication and Presentation Skills:
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with prospects and customers.
o Ability to translate non-technical customer needs into technical requirements, and vice versa, tailoring communications to the technical competency level of your audience.
o Confident presentation abilities, delivering impactful product demos and workshops.
o Capability to lead technical scoping discussions, draw-out concerns, and answer technical questions with clarity and confidence.
o Active listening skills to understand customer pain points and requirements accurately.
o Ability to effectively articulate a tailored value proposition and competitive advantages of a product to potential clients, considering the business problem, our capability and
competitor offerings.
o Hands-on experience with product demonstrations, showcasing key functionalities and addressing customer-specific use cases.
o Ability to communicate with business stakeholders, translating technical concepts into business benefits.
• Collaboration and Teamwork:
o Ability to work closely with the sales team, providing technical expertise to support the sales cycle.
o Collaborate with the implementation team to ensure the sales value proposition is translated into a detailed technical specification to support successful software enablement
o Willingness and ability to assist in creating sales collateral, technical documentation, and knowledge base articles.

o Analytical mindset to understand complex technical scenarios and propose suitable solutions.
o Capability to troubleshoot technical issues during product demonstrations or customer evaluations.
o Creative problem-solving skills to offer workarounds for customer-specific needs.
