The [ROLE] will lead the day-to-day finance function managing and developing a team focused on delivering regular (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual). The audience for the reporting will a wide range of senior stakeholders reflecting My client’s’ capital base of listed infrastructure funds, UK PLC institutions, family office cap, and institutional debt providers. This reporting will encompass management accounts, statutory accounts, loan covenant compliance and span well beyond the ‘core numbers’ into managing tax risk, procurement of renewable energy, controlling the working capital requirements of major capital programmes. The successful candidate will be technically skilled and so comfortable explaining Group deferred tax treatments to the Finance Director of our largest shareholder, or to manage interest rate hedging with a global investment bank. But equally important will be the energy and intellectual curiosity to learn about our business and take on challenges that may be unfamiliar (e.g. group insurance and risk), form effective partnerships with key contributors to financial outputs (e.g. the cost management team on construction projects or for capital allowances), and so gather and communicate the information needed for line reports to execute successfully.
