Director of Demand Generation

LoyaltyLion – Director of Demand Generation, UK based
LoyaltyLion is a data-driven loyalty and engagement platform trusted by thousands of eCommerce brands worldwide. Merchants use LoyaltyLion when they want a loyalty program that is proven to increase customer engagement, retention and spend. Stores using LoyaltyLion typically generate at least $15 for every $1 they spend on the platform.
Today LoyaltyLion works with over 10,000 small and medium-sized retailers. Our mission is to help them succeed in the age of Amazon, where they may not be able to compete on price and logistics but can offer a better customer experience. An experience where customers feel valued, rather than just another number.
It’s been an incredible two years for LoyaltyLion. We closed $12.5m early last year and another $12m this year, and we’ve grown from 40 employees to over 100. We’ve built out our Leadership team, recruiting a CTO, CFO and CPO amongst other senior hires and we continue to scale quickly, achieving spots in both the Deloitte Fast 50 and the FT1000. This is just the beginning of our inflection point.
Role Overview:
As the Director of Demand Generation, you will be working closely with the Head of Marketing who owns the brand architecture and communications.
- You will be a key hire in the GTM team – you will be the go-to individual for all things performance marketing related reporting regularly to the board.
Leading the demand generation marketing function as well as inspiring and promoting a data-driven marketing mindset.
Having the autonomy and leadership to assess all performance marketing channels and identify where resources should be allocated.
Keeping track of the data and analysis, making strategic decisions, and owning the revenue number.
What we’re looking for:
A leader who knows what it takes to 10x grow. You’ve led and implemented a powerful growth strategy that’s worked, and you can’t wait to do it again and take another team on a growth journey with you.
You’re obsessed with data and making decisions quickly. You’re not afraid to experiment, and justifying your decisions to start, stop or maintain activity is part of your day-to-day thinking – whether you’re explaining your rationale to your peers, senior stakeholders or the Board.
You’ve autonomously led inbound lead generation strategy and execution of digital channels to deliver exponential growth from £1m to £5m new ARR generation:
Hands-on experience in SEO and PPC is a must
Exposure to the Shopify Appstore would be a bonus
Experience in other digital marketing channels that could be experimented with would be welcomed
You love Conversion Rate Optimisation – from analysing website performance to identifying areas of improvement and teaching the wider marketing team where to upgrade our website so that it works harder to move people through our customer journey, and pass more educated and higher intent leads to the sales team.
You have experience attracting a tight ICP and driving lead generation for a more considered product – used to attracting and signposting to SMBs. However, as our website also brings in visitors from above and below those brackets, you’ll know how to signpost the correct journeys to a wide range of prospects. Exposure to PLG and self-service website journeys would be preferable.
You’ve used the best tools before, so you’re comfortable making educated and informed proposals around Marketing technology that would add power to your lead-generation strategy. You’ll have worked with tools such as Cognism, Clearbit, Chilli Piper in the past and be able to build business cases to unlock investment in those resources in future.
You have an operational mindset – you’re a scientist and you’re comfortable digging into tools such as Hubspot, Salesforce or similar to fully understand the performance of the leads you’re generating.
You’re a team player – you’re able to consider content and activity from our wider demand gen strategy and identify opportunities to deploy them to improve the performance of lead gen channels and our website.
