Director of Data

LoyaltyLion is a data-driven loyalty and engagement platform trusted by thousands of e-commerce brands worldwide. Merchants use LoyaltyLion when they want a loyalty program that is proven to increase customer engagement, retention, and spending. Stores using LoyaltyLion typically generate at least $15 for every $1 they spend on the platform.
Today LoyaltyLion works with over 10,000 small and medium-sized retailers. Our mission is to help them succeed in the age of Amazon, where they may not be able to compete on price and logistics but can offer a better customer experience. An experience where customers feel valued, rather than just another number.
It’s been an incredible two years for LoyaltyLion. We closed $12.5m early last year and another $12m this year, and we’ve grown from 40 employees to over 100. We’ve built out our Leadership team, recruiting a CTO, CFO, and Director of Product amongst other senior hires and we continue to scale quickly, achieving spots in both the Deloitte Fast 50 and the FT1000. This is just the beginning of our inflection point.

Around 80% of eCommerce businesses are yet to add a loyalty program. This represents a huge greenfield opportunity, which is incredibly rare in SaaS. It means you don’t need to wait twelve-plus months to remove an incumbent. We are building a billion-dollar company in a market that is forecast to exceed $15bn by 2025. Right now, we anticipate market acceleration. As we enter a recession, merchants will do as they always do: look to existing customers for sales because that’s the most profitable channel. You’ll have noticed this yourself with many leading brands recently launching loyalty programs, including Mcdonald's, Burger King, H&M, Pret, ASDA, Urban Outfitters, and many more. The industry is turning to loyalty programs.

Data at LoyaltyLion

Data is central to everything we do at LoyaltyLion, but we are in an immature phase of our journey. The pervasive use of spreadsheets and time-consuming manual data extraction from several siloed systems is recurrent. The vision is to be market leaders driven by holistic data strategy and culture. At the core, a single platform for reporting and analytics is supported by a centralized and automated data ingesting system into a Lake. Creating predictive analytics to support business decisions and product development.
