Role Summary
The Business Development Director is responsible for achieving the agreed sales targets through the expert acquisition and development of new prospects.
This is achieved through the development of robust sales strategies, lead generation, effective management of sales cycles, and the development of strong, trusted relationships with prospects. The growth of revenues from new customers is critical to the success of Ecrebo in the short and long term, and as such this role is a key hire to support this objective.

Responsibilities

  • Expertly lead and manage the sales cycle for prospects within the territory; follow up leads, call on prospects per business plans, create and deliver proposal presentations, and work closely with prospects until contract is closed.

 

  • Develop a well thought-out, robust sales strategy that can help further penetrate the UK market in key verticals including grocery, convenience, hardware, FMCG retail and other sectors.

 

  • Drive prospecting for new leads through the UK and other opportune international markets in line with the EMEA growth strategy.

 

  • Critical skill in closing deals – the ability to work rapidly through a sales cycle, striking the delicate balance between not pushing too hard, but not losing urgency in deal execution.

 

  • Manage sales offers, including its presentation and the negotiation of budgets and contracts, ensuring the commercial offer respects Ecrebo’s legal and financial policies and is fully signed off with internal stakeholders.

 

  • Comfortable pivoting quickly and at short notice into new markets and new territories

 

  • Develop close strategic relationships with prospects and other third parties and execute a large and deep account management of their clients to make sure Ecrebo is well perceived at every level of their organisation.

 

  • Maintain accurate records within relevant CRM platforms and provide timely feedback to management regarding performance, opportunities and risks.

Required qualities:

  • Successful sales track record, with proven background working in the retail sector.
  • Tangible examples of large-scale client wins, management of complex negotiations and clear proficiency in the retail sector.

 

  • Capable of hunting for deals, but critically also a proven track record of significant deal closure.

 

  • Proven direct sales success with large complex, not well-defined solutions (not shrink-wrapped products), experience in selling SaaS products in a retail environment to large scale clients.

 

  • Experience in the POS and payments space considered a plus.

 

  • Retail First-hand Retail industry experience and network gathered over several years.

 

  • Proven network of industry contacts an experience. Strong understanding of the challenges faced by modern retailers.

 

  • Proven ability to pro-actively and self- sufficiently motivate and drive sales with prospects across all stages.

 

  • Must have the ability to close out deals, even in the face of difficult client expectations or challenging external situations.

 

  • Ability to articulate the Ecrebo value proposition in the context of what matters to retailers. Talk in the language of modern retail, communicating with empathy and clarity.

 

  • Proven experience in dealing with fast paced commercial activity. Strong financial acumen, and clear ability to grasp concepts quickly and with urgency.
